The Y/C Marina Mali Lošinj is
situated at the entrance to the town of Mali Lošinj in the evergreen island of
Lošinj in the north of the Adriatic. The small town lies in the naturally
sheltered bay of Lošinj. It is an easy accessible destination for boaters.
Nautical tourism is linked to the well-equipped marina, the port of Mali
Lošinj, as well numerous coves and inlets that provide safe moorings and
anchorage to all types of vessels, both ordinary boats and the most luxurious
yachts. Mali Lošinj, which is now the biggest settlement on the Adriatic
islands, was first mentioned at the end of the 14th century. It soon became the
seafaring centre of the eastern coast of the Adriatic, reaching the peak of its
fame at the end of the 19th century.
The Marina Y/C Mali Lošinj, 44°32,6'N -
14°28,0'E, is located on the northern shore of Lošinj Bay close to
the strait of Privlaka, to the west of the town shipyard. It offers 150
moorings for yachts od 8 to 30 meters. All the moorings have water and
electricity supply. There is an area of 5,000 square meters for storing another
150 vessels of 6 to 20 meters and an indoor space of 1,500 square meters for
storing 40 vessels of 6 to 16 meters. The Marina offers the services of
storing, laying up and fitting out vessels throughout the year, as well as
authorized service for boat engines and other equipment. There is a workshop
for work with wood, plastic and iron done on the plating and freeboard.
The Marina offers an excellent restaurant and
supermarket. The facilities of the port of Mali Lošinj are used by ships and
yachts all the year round. The island of Lošinj is connected with the mainland
and the neighbouring islands by numerous car ferry services, It also has an
international airport, which is located only 5 kilometers from the Marina and
is frequently used by its visitors
Close to the Marina there is a border crossing
for vessels, which is open throughtout the year. On the opposite side of the
bay at a distance of 500 meters there is a petrol station. It is also open all
the year round, and in the summer it offers its services at night as well.
